Door Supervisor Shortage Across the UK Post Covid.
Stage three of the governments easing of lookdown is planned to commence on Monday 17th May. However, according to a recent article published by the BBC, venues such as bars and nightclubs may not be able to open as planned if they cannot find enough door staff to supervise them.
The UK is currently experiencing a shortage of trained and licenced Door Supervisors, the COVID-19 pandemic has seen the hospitality industry struggle and many staff have found alternative employment. Plus, with the added restrictions on venues to comply with social distancing rules and additional safety procedures, the demand is now higher than ever. Having the correct ratio of security staff is a condition of holding a licence to operate, so without the required number of Door Supervisors, the venues simply cannot open.
